Frequently asked questions
What does EdgeLens do?
EdgeLens analyzes trades you have already closed, from files you upload, and shows your win rate, average win and loss, profit factor, drawdown and the habits behind your losses, such as oversizing or holding losing trades longer than winners.
Does EdgeLens tell me what to trade?
No. EdgeLens is an educational analytics tool. It never recommends a security, direction, entry or exit, and it does not provide investment, tax or legal advice.
Which files can I upload?
A NinjaTrader or Tradovate performance CSV, an E*TRADE consolidated 1099-B PDF, or the EdgeLens template CSV (symbol, side, qty, entry time, exit time, P&L), which works with any broker's data.
Do you connect to my brokerage account?
Never. You export a file from your broker and upload it. EdgeLens has no access to your account and cannot place trades.
What happens to my file after I upload it?
It is read in memory, the closed trades are extracted, and the file is discarded. The file itself and its name are never stored. Names, addresses, tax IDs and account numbers are not kept.
What is a rule replay?
A replay re-runs your own past trades with rules you choose, such as a fixed position size, a loss cap per contract, a daily loss limit or a cooldown after a loss. Results are hypothetical and usually optimistic, because real stops can fill worse and a stopped trade might have recovered.
What is the prop-firm evaluation check?
Enter an evaluation's rules (profit target, daily loss limit, trailing or static drawdown, minimum days, consistency rule, contract limit) and EdgeLens replays your past trades against them, showing every attempt and why it passed or failed. It is hypothetical and optimistic because only closed trades are visible, and the presets are examples, not any firm's actual rules.
What does 'what your habits cost' mean?
It is the net result of the trades that show each habit, such as oversized positions or re-entering right after a loss. A trade can show several habits, so the combined figure counts each trade once. It describes what those trades netted, not what would have happened without them.
Can I share my results?
Yes. The share card is an image made in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. Dollar amounts are hidden unless you choose to show them.
What is the options review?
When your file includes option details (an E*TRADE 1099-B does), EdgeLens groups your closed option trades by days to expiry when opened, days held, calls vs. puts, underlying and premium size, and shows how much of every premium dollar you paid came back. It describes your past trades only; it does not price options, pick strikes or expirations, or recommend trades.
What is the paper review?
You write a rule card (for example: a $100 daily loss limit, max 2 contracts, flat by 3 pm, no overnight holds), trade it on a paper or simulator account, and confirm which uploads are paper trades. EdgeLens checks every paper session against your rules and counts how many in a row kept all of them (5 by default). It can't verify an upload came from a paper account, it never places orders, and completing the review is a discipline check, not evidence of an edge or approval to trade live.
How much does EdgeLens cost?
Your first report is free, including what your habits cost and a share card. Pro is $12 per month or $99 per year and adds unlimited reports, rule replays, the prop-firm evaluation check and the paper review. Coach is $29 per month and adds priority email support.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete any report, or delete your account and all of its data permanently from Settings at any time.
